Seven

Film trailer conventions

Range of settings

using the ranger of setting inside a film trailer will get the audience to being to think what this film is about and what type of film is it going to be. With seven you can clearly see by the three mainly used settings on the police office, crime scenes and morgue. these three key scenes help the audience piece together what's unravelling in front of their eyes. this will begin to play act on their brain and start to piece together all the scenes and will then it will solve what is what and what is occurring, so to sum up the use of range of settings is that it plays on the mind and gives out what the film is all about and where it will be set and what type of mood it will be setting.

star power

In every film trailer star power is the most used thing inside a film trailer. the reason for this is because if the star power wasn't in then no one would watch that film because the actors are the ones that bring in more fans in. sometimes film trailers play on male gaze to gain more male viewers. for example hall pass use this to draw more of a male audience in. star power is massive because the actors have fan bases and if they see there actor is in an upcoming film there will go and watch the trailer to get the gist of it and then also to just watch there favourite actor in action. for example in this one Morgan Freeman is the main star power used, this means the Morgan freeman fan base will watch this film just because of him.
